Valerie Elaine Miller

Valerie Elaine Miller (nee Jensen), age 77, went to see the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012. Beloved wife of James Houston Miller. Dearest mother of Jay (Hope), Kirk (Stacey), Todd (Amy), and Hallie Wagner (John). Beloved grandmother of Josh, Sam, Lexi, Sean, Brooklyn, McKenzie, Lily, Ethan, Jack, Robert and Eloise. Devoted sister of Karen and Robin. Valerie grew up in Lorain, Ohio and attended The Ohio University, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was fond of calling her alma mater, "The Harvard on the Hocking." Valerie went on to become a home economics teacher for the Parma City School District, working in many of its junior high and high schools for 30 years. She greatly looked forward to and enjoyed her retirement, spending more time with her children and grandchildren, entertaining (especially for the holidays), traveling around the world with her husband, playing tennis and spending time with her many friends at bridge club and other social gatherings. Valerie passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be forwarded to the Cleveland Area Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 23215 Commerce Park Drive, Suite 300, Beachwood, OH 44122. Memorial Service at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 7:30pm. Cremation by Busch Crematory.
