Mrs. Joyce Ann Gang

My mom was a special person, that is for sure,
She was strong, loving, witty and pure,

Her beloved husband Dudley whom she truly loved and adored,
Left her MUCH too soon, that cannot be ignored.

My Mom knew just exactly what she wanted,
and usually GOT her own way,

And no matter the topic, it seemed she always had SOMETHING to say.

At times saying EXACTLY THAT on her mind,
Dad would say “Joyce please try to be more kind”

Quite strong

My mom was a special person, that is for sure,

Quite strong of Mind and Will was she,
Whatever she said it didn’t surprise me.

She lived on her own for 20 some years, While dealing with a progressively, crippling disease,
And She did it all while appearing at ease.
Creative and crafty in more ways than I knew,
She could sew like crazy and make really good stew,

She LOVED Thanksgiving , Easter,
Christmas, AND Halloween,

And Boy oh Boy she cooked food FIT for a Queen.

Mom loved ALL her children unconditionally,

And she has a great family at least WE all agree.

We had wonderful birthdays and holidays too,
Our family getting together,
With MOM as our GLUE.

Her and Dad took us on vacations, trips and whatever.
And She more than once made us eat picnic lunch in SNOWY weather.
After suffering a stroke in 2008, she moved into a wonderful, wonderful caring place.

The Staff at The Lutheran Home which of course many she knew,

Had many good times with her and I’m certain many

OTHER kinds of times too.

She was sharp as a tack and yet stubborn at times,

But as they say, it takes all kinds.

She did have some strong political views,

Loved listening to Rush Limbaugh and

watching the TV news.
But I knew my mom in my own special way,
and I will cherish our memories day-by-day.

Although it was HER in the nursing home,
not you and not me,

She was one HECK of a trooper,

Indubitably!

For the past couple of years I called to check in with her ALMOST every single day,

But if I didn’t she would call me to make sure I was OK I Love You Mom
