Donna J. Fenwick (nee Sommers), 65 of Elyria formerly of Cuyahoga Falls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a long illness. Donna was born July 10, 1946 in Akron and lived in Elyria the past 47 years.

Donna worked as a child care professional for numerous day care facilities and truly enjoyed her time as a child care professional. She was also a cook at the Open Door Christian School Day Care where she had a special rapport with the children. She was a 1964 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, a member of the First Baptist Church, Elyria and attended the Elyria Community Church of the Nazarene. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading mystery novels and listening to Christian and Gospel Music. She took pleasure in being with nature, especially flower gardening and was described by her family as a very giving person with a great sense of humor.

Mrs. Fenwick is survived by her husband Edward C. whom she married April 13, 1966; sons Mark E. (Shannon) of Marrero, LA and currently serving in Afghanistan, Eric M. of St. Louis, MO and Jeffrey A. of Elyria; granddaughter Ashlee; sister Patricia Ann Waters (Charles) of Cuyahoga Falls; brother Michael Sommers (Lynda) of North Carolina.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lorin and Anna (nee Timberlake) Sommers.

A Memorial Service will be 7pm Tuesday, June 5 at the Elyria Community Church of the Nazarene, 1107 Clemens Avenue, Elyria. Rev. George Gribben III will officiate.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Heaven Train Ministry at the Elyria Community Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Busch Funeral Home, Elyria. www.buschfuneral.com
