Obituary

Zachary Duffield, 22, of Cleveland, died on November. 24, 2019, in his home after his struggle with mental illness. Although only 22 at the time of his death, Zac affected many people in his lifetime.

Zachary had an immense love of technology and studied Computer Science at Cleveland State University. He started this love early and used his talents to create a data base for his high school choir. He loved sharing his projects with others and helping people however he could. Zachary was a Resident Ambassador at The Langston apartment complex in Cleveland where he touched the lives of all his coworkers and the residents he interacted with.

Zachary never took himself too seriously and brightened up any situation with humor and jokes. His quick puns and quirky sayings raised the spirits of everyone around him. He always took time out of his day just to send funny pictures or jokes to the people close to him just to spread joy around. He was also a proud member of the LGBT community and was always supportive of those in the community struggling with their identity.

Zachary was deeply patriotic and shared his birthday with Independence Day, July 4th. He loved all things Red, White and Blue. Along with technology Zachary loved animals, airplanes, and volunteering wherever he could.

Zachary was born in Lorain and grew up in Westlake. He is the second son of his Mother Jody Duffield and Father Matthew Duffield. Besides his parents Zachary leaves behind his Brother Justin Duffield, his Sister Xaviera Duffield, his dearest Friends Kaitlyn and Brett and his partner Patrick.
Zachary had a favorite quote passed on to him by his favorite science teacher. "Every day might not be a good day. But there is something good in every day." And he passed on this spirit to anyone who was fortunate enough to meet him.
