William "Bill" Harvey Curtis, Sr., 80, of Elyria passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange. Bill had been a resident of North Fort Myers, Florida for the past five years. He was born January 13, 1940 in Elyria.
Bill graduated from the Howe Military School and attended Lorain County Community College and received a degree in Police Science. He was employed as a Police Officer at the Elyria Police Department from 1967 – 1993. He was a member of the Elyria Patrolman Association, life member of the NRA, life member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Moose Club, AmVets, and American Legion-German Social Club. He enjoyed marksmanship, hunting, and fishing.
Mr. Curtis is survived by his son, William H. Curtis, Jr. (Tina), Timothy C. Curtis (Mariam), Jay J. Curtis (Christine), foster daughter, Karen Jordon of Arizona; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings, Lynda L. Cavalaris (Gus) of Columbus and Patricia Calla (Jim, deceased) of Canada.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene "Popa" Curtis (1988); father, Harvey Curtis (1991); mother, Miriam Curtis (1999); foster daughter, Bonnie Jordan (1986).
Friends may visit from 4-8pm, Monday, November 16 at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria. Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
