Walter W. Corn, Sr., 86, a resident of Elyria for the past 66 years has passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born January 7, 1933 in Belvidere, Tennessee.
Walter was a United States Army veteran, serving three years during the Korean Conflict. He retired as an Inspector from the Lorain Ford Plant in 1999 after 43 years of service. He was a member of Local #425 of Lorain, Lorain County C.A.P. Council, and a lifetime member of NAACP. Walter was an avid sportsman, enjoyed going to sporting events, and watching football and basketball.
Mr. Corn is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth; sons, Walter (Carmen) Corn, Jr. of Old Hickory, Tennessee and Charles Corn of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren; dearest niece, Johnna Johnson; sister, Francis Corn of Winchester, Tennessee; brothers, Joe (Irene) Corn of Elyria and Donald Corn of Nashville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd, Howard, Collier Corn; sisters Doris Rogers and Lula Mae Burnette; parents, William and Alberta Corn.

Friends may call 6-8pm Thursday, January 9 at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria. A private family service will be 10am Friday, January 10 in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3700 Center Road, Avon. Pastor Tammy Campell will officiate.
