Loving Son, Brother, Uncle

Stanley "Joe" Klesta, 65 and a lifelong resident of Elyria, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones, following a short illness. He was born January 19, 1955.
Joe was a graduate of Elyria High School, class of 1974, auto mechanics alumni. He was a tree trimmer in the early 70s and owner/operator/carpenter of JK Construction. As a result of a snowmobile accident in 1980, he was confined to a wheelchair for nearly 40 years, but he persevered due to his strength and determination. Joe had an infectious smile that lit up a room, whether you were an old friend or meeting him for the first time, you always got that same smile followed by a compliment. He always managed to humble you without saying a word making you realize your life is not so bad. If he was hospitalized and in pain, you never knew it because he never showed pain even when was always I am okay while managing a smile. Staff would often go into his room because they were having a bad day or night and needed comfort, support, or just a break away...Joe would provide that comfort to them... through his laughter or a compliment, just a smile or a wave of his hand. Often, they would just hold his hand. Sometimes it was someone that was not even taking care of him but needed that comfort and smile would go into his room. He provided this comfort to staff even back in the early 80s when some of these people now were not even born yet. What an inspiration he has been, a true fighter, and hero .. and that Joey smile!
He was a member of St. Mary Church in Elyria and the Elyria Polish Club. He was a proud Pollock! "The Polish Prince" He loved the outdoors and working on cars. His favorite music was The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janet Jackson, and of course Brittany Spears.
He is survived by his siblings, Michael Klesta of Wellington, Linda Burrer (Kenny) of Elyria, and Daniel Klesta (Michele) of Oberlin; nieces and nephews, Courtney, Daniel Joseph, Holly, Jill, and Christopher Klesta. Many loving cousins.
