Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend

Obituary

Ronald O. "Ron" MacFee, 78, of North Ridgeville, formerly of Bay Village, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019. Ron was born April 23, 1941 in Melrose, Massachusetts to Fred and Blanche (nee Mitchell) MacFee.
He faithfully served in the United States Coast Guard for 9 years after graduating from the Coast Guard Academy where he earned a Bachelor's degree. He went on to work as a Compensation Specialist in the Human Resources Department for GE Lighting, retiring in 2006 after 35 years with the company.
Ron was a faithful and very involved member in the Christian Heritage Assembly of God Church in Avon, OH. He was always extremely generous in giving what he had, including his time, knowledge and helping hands, to his family, friends and the church and its missions.
He was honest and integrous with all he came in contact with, and while following the rules was important to him, he also loved to tease and joke. Ron always made sure his family knew he loved them and was so proud of all their accomplishments. He was a loyal and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend and prayed over his family faithfully.
He was an avid reader of any and all genres of books, enjoyed woodworking, and spending time as a Royal Ranger Commander. As a Royal Ranger Commander he shared his love for camping, hiking, tying knots, and canoeing (among other skills) with the boys who were a part of this program in the church.
Ron loved spending as many summers as he could in Maine, enjoying 60 years visiting the family home named "Sokokis".
Ron was so gentle and sweet to everyone around him. He was the guy you would want by your side as a friend.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Emily (nee Bryant) MacFee; children Kevin (Kim) MacFee of Prescott, AZ., Melinda (Vaughn) Sundberg of Lakeland, FL., Amy (Chris) Stubbs of South Africa, and Megan (Justin) Atchley of Delta, CO.; grandchildren Ellery, Broc (Haven) and Rye MacFee; Olivia, Sofia, Gunnar (Carissa) and Emily Sundberg; Benjamin, Grayce and Ian Stubbs, and Braden, Allison, Ethan and Sydnie Atchley; and brother William (Mary) MacFee.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Blanche MacFee.
