Richard A. Wiedemer Jr., "Rick," Age 72, of Rocky River, OH. Born April 30, 1947 in Lakewood, OH to Richard, "Jim", and Rachel Wiedemer. Beloved father of Kristi Wiedemer Turner of Denver, CO, Jess Wiedemer (Gina) of Rocky River, OH and Eric Wiedemer (Jacke) of Rocky River, OH, his children with former spouse Sue Wiedemer of Rocky River, OH. Loving grandfather of Zoe and Grady Turner, Brooke, Alex and Reese Wiedemer, Fritz and Louisa Wiedemer. Loving partner of Christy Lyras and loved by her family Sozon Lyras of New York, NY and Sarah Brodman (Josh) of New Albany, OH. Dear brother of Lynn Walker (Mike) of Boulder, CO, Jean Nicholson (Bill) of Rocky River, OH, Kay Wiedemer of Steamboat Springs, CO and Jo Hogan (Kevin) of Asheville, NC. Beloved uncle of many. Passed away Saturday August 3, 2019. Rick was the proud third generation owner and CEO of Hinkley Lighting, marking his 50th year at the family business this year. He graduated from Ohio University, later serving on its Executive Advisory Board. He was an active member of the American Lighting Association and served in various leadership roles. As a longtime business leader, he was active in YPO and Vistage. Rick was an avid boater and an average golfer. Throughout his life, Rick fostered countless personal friendships, especially as a lifelong member and Past Commodore of the Cleveland Yachting Club, and longtime member of Westwood Country Club. He enjoyed being outdoors, and spending free time with friends and family. He loved to laugh and have a good time, and was a passionate Cleveland sports fan. While Rick loved flowers his family would appreciate memorials be made to The Healthnetwork Foundation at www.healthnetworkfoundation.org, an organization he supported and provided critical aid in his fight to overcome the injury; or, to honor his parents by donating to the Alzheimer's Foundation at www.alzfdn.org. A memorial service will be held at St. Christopher Church, 20141 Detroit Road, Rocky River, OH 44116 on Friday, August 16 at 12:00pm. Reception to follow the service. Cremation by Busch Crematory. Private interment at Lakewood Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 21369 Center Ridge Road, Fairview Park, OH from 2-7pm on Thursday, August 15.
