Obituary

Rev. Charles W. Beamer, 80, of North Olmsted, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Joshua Tree Care Center. He was born September 15, 1939 to the late Charles S. and Loretta (nee McGee) Beamer in Cumberland, MD.
Charles was a man who found passion in serving others and his life's work reflected this. He was a proud Demolitions Expert in the US Army, serving with the 101st Airborne Division from 1961 until a parachute accident required his early retirement in 1964. After leaving the army, Charles continued his education to become an Episcopal Priest, allowing him to continue to serve others. He was ordained in April 1974 and went on to pastor numerous churches, including Grace Episcopal in Willoughby, OH and St. Andrew's Episcopal in Cleveland. He retired from Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Cleveland in 2005.
In addition to a life of service, Charles was a dedicated family man, and doted on his wife and two daughters, and later his four grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, and going to dinner with friends. He was an avid reader and enjoyed his pet cats, usually having multiple cats share the family home. He enjoyed traveling and taking extended trips with the family.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Yvonne Beamer; his loving daughters, Marie Lipchek (Brandon) and Ann East (Mark Westerlund); cherished grandchildren Brandon, Jayna, Caden and Roman.
