Obituary

Ralph E. Turner, 89 of Avon, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born September 30, 1927 in Cleveland, OH.
Ralph served for 3 years in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Germany. He worked as a machinist for the Nickel Plate Railroad and the New York Central Railroad. He graduated from Kent State University with a degree in education and taught for 4 years at Clearview High School and 20 years at Lakewood High School teaching Machine Trades. He was a member of the Lorain County Computer Users Group, a life time member of the Model Airplanes AMA and Sam 39 Lorain County Radio Control Club (RC) Club, a member of the For the Love of Poetry Club, a life time member of the Retired Teachers (STRS) and he also had an interest in archery and enjoyed painting oil paintings.
Ralph is survived by his beloved wife Margaret; loving children Edroe (Janet) and Brian (Joy); dear grandchildren Cathy (Don) McElheny and Elizabeth (Matt) Haas; 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ida Turner.
