Obituary

Mary Jane Dawe (nee Hoy), 90, of Rocky River, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018. She was born on September 14, 1927 in Auburn, Michigan, to parents Ralph and Hattie (nee Kent) Hoy.
Mary Jane lived a full life. A graduate of Central Michigan University, she continued her formal education after college by earning her Master's Degree in social work. The bulk of her career was spent working at Marymount Hospital where she retired as the Director of Human Resources in 1996. Mary Jane had a knack for making beautiful ceramics and she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and euchre with her family. Her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren. She spent many hours on the road traveling between Toledo and Avon Lake in order to attend her grandchildren's concerts and sporting events. Mary Jane was an active member of Unity Spiritual Center in Westlake for many years. Post retirement she spent many hours volunteering at the Rocky River Senior Center. She was the Rocky River Senior Center's 2009 volunteer of the year and she was a finalist in the volunteer category for the Crain's Business Inaugural 2008 Health Care Heroes Award Program.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Colleen Sieberg (Tom), Kathy Baker, Steven Dawe (Julie), and Maria Urick (Mike); grandchildren Megan and Ryan Sieberg, Michelle Cory (Chris), Jessica and Matthew Dawe, Tammy Bunting (Jeff), Matthew, Michael and Jacob Urick; and great-granddaughter Brittany Bunting.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Edward Dawe who passed away in 1973, and her son-in-law Fred Baker.

Private graveside services will be held at Lakewood Park Cemetery; where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Arrangements were entrusted to Busch Funeral Home, Avon Lake. www.buschcares.com (440) 933 - 3202
