Joanne Helen Karbowiak (nee Chrzanowski), age 82, of Parma, Ohio; beloved wife of the late Henry J. Karbowiak who passed away in February 1991; loving mother of Lawrence Karbowiak (Linda Kocaja), Stephen Karbowiak, Cheryl Karbowiak, Donna Whittaker, Jeffrey Karbowiak (Cheryl Romeo), and Kenneth Karbowiak; dear grandmother of Michael Karbowiak (Julia), Kristy Whittaker, Christopher Karbowiak, Timothy Whittaker (Courtney), Jeffrey Karbowiak, Joseph Karbowiak, and Aidan Karbowiak, and great-grandmother of Kaitlyn Whittaker, Ethan Karbowiak and Andrew Karbowiak; cherished sister of Robert Chrzanowski (Julie), Carol Mayich (Richard, deceased), and the late Geraldine Stemple (Gene, deceased). Joanne was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at TRW in Cleveland where she met her future husband Henry. Soon after, Joanne became a full-time homemaker to raise her family, and then later returned to work at Cuyahoga Community College and at other companies in office management and administrative roles. Beyond her joy of her large family, Joanne loved playing cards and bingo, and also enjoyed bowling and golfing in her earlier years. She was also an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Indians, watching them play at every opportunity. Joanne passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019. Although flowers are appreciated, the family prefers memorial contributions be forwarded to The National Fragile X Foundation (www.fragilex.org), FRAXA Research Foundation (www.fraxa.org), or Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org). The family will receive friends at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, September 9, 2019. Prayer service at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 10:15 A.M. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 6750 State Road, Parma.
