Loving Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend

MILMAN – Jeffrey Owen, born July 23, 1943, in New York City, died unexpectedly Friday, May 9, 2014, in Cleveland, Ohio. With fond memories of growing up in Scarsdale, NY, Jeff graduated from Cornell University, where he was treasurer and reunion director of the WVBR radio station, and Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Choosing to volunteer in Vietnam, Jeff was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Medical Service Corps, serving as a hospital administrator in Chu Lai, and later rose to Captain. A CPA, Jeff worked as comptroller for several companies, his favorite being the former Ideal Toy Company, for which he still planned gatherings with other employees. He was an avid skier, scuba diver, and boating enthusiast. A member of the New York Military Affairs Symposium, Jeff was dedicated to military history, making many friends with others similarly inclined. Jeff spent the past 9 months in Cleveland, Ohio, to be closer to his nephew's family; Justin and Lisa were endlessly and selflessly devoted to him until his untimely death. Jeff made lifelong friends wherever paths crossed, he as devoted to them as they to him; his incredible kindness and generosity will not be forgotten. Beloved son of the late Morton and Rosalind Eno Milman, Jeff is survived by his brother Stephen Milman (Evalyn) of Darien, Connecticut, and his sister Kathryn Havemann of Dayton, Ohio. Close relatives included the families of Richard and Janet Eno of Cabot, Vermont, Robert and Candice Eno of Bloomington, Indiana, his nieces and nephews (Douglas, Natalie, Nadia, and Stephen Milman of Oakton, Virginia; Andrew, Shanna, and Matthew Milman of New York, New York; Justin, Lisa, Eamon, and Mallerie Havemann of Rocky River, Ohio; Margaret, Jared, Josephine, Charlotte, and Lucille Scogna of Arlington, Virginia; Elizabeth, Michael, Caden, Lucas, and Jack Casanova of Kettering, Ohio; Catherine Havemann of Columbus, Ohio). A service with Military Honors will be held in Cleveland Thursday, May 15, 2014 (details at, followed by prayers/interment Sunday, May 18, 2014, at 11:00 am, Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Glendale (Queens), New York.
