Loving Son, Brother, Nephew, Friend

Obituary

James Robert Shaffer, 57, of Fairview Park passed away suddenly on May 5, 2020. Jim is survived by his twin brother, Jack, his sister, Lori, his aunt and uncle, Joy and Bob Shaffer, and his stepfather, Frank Markus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joanne Markus and Kermit Shaffer.

Jim, known as Wimmy Wimbledon to his childhood friends, was born August 22, 1962 and raised in Avon Lake. He graduated Avon Lake High School class of 1981.
Jim was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Bike riding was one of Jim's passions; he could often be seen riding one of his bikes at all hours. Jim loved to read and knew thousands of obscure facts.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Jim's life will be planned and announced on our website. Updates will also be shared on Jim's Facebook page.

Memorials may be forwarded in Jim's memory to The Center for Applied Drama and Autism, an Asperger's charity or an important charity of your choice.

Jim always talked about going back to his favorite place where we spent our childhood vacations, Belmont Lake, Ontario. We hope he is there now with all our family that has already passed. See you again someday, Wimmy. Wackster and Chubs miss you.

Memorial Service to be announced.
