Heidi L. Yurick was born in Iowa City, Iowa on May 18, 1966 and she passed away on November 23, 2017.
Heidi grew up in Wayzata, Minnesota where she attended Wayzata High School. She was a hockey cheerleader and continued to cheer her way through life. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in business. She was an avid Badgers fan and an active member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Heidi worked in pharmaceutical sales for 22 years for the companies TAP, Takeda and Novo Nordisk where she excelled at her job, winning several presidential awards, and developed long lasting friendships. She was a loving and supportive wife, mom, daughter, aunt and friend. Her children were her main priority. People knew her as being outgoing and fun. She enjoyed being social and entertaining for family and friends. Heidi had a keen eye for fashion, style and decorating. She had a special love for travel and enjoyed vacations in Naples, Florida, Italy, her cabin in northern Minnesota and cruising in the Caribbean. Heidi was an avid Cavs, Indians, Big Ten and Avon Lake sports fan. She loved celebrating Halloween and Day of the Dead. She also loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her dog Murphy. Heidi had a fearless attitude toward everything in life and continued that attitude throughout her 7 year battle with colon cancer where she fought bravely without complaints and with thought and concern for her family. She was passionate about raising awareness for colorectal cancer.
Heidi is survived by her husband Bob of 22 years, Daughters Lauren and Lindsay, parents Ed and Carolyn Jenkins of Santa Fe, New Mexico, in-laws Dr. Robert and Leisa Yurick of Rocky River, brother Blake (Jen) Schmidt, sister and brother in law Greg and Linnea Michels, nieces Kelsey and Kristi Michels and Spencer Jane Schmidt, nephews Cole and Henry Schmidt.
Special thanks to the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center Westlake, Ohio nursing staff, especially Kim. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center for colorectal cancer awareness and research.
Private services were held. Friends may call on Friday, December 1 from 5-7pm, and on Saturday, December 2 from 2-4pm.
