Obituary

Ernest B. (Thomasko) Thomas, 75, of Grafton and formerly of Medina, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Ames Hospice House in Westlake following a lengthy illness. He was born June 4, 1941 in Elyria and was raised in Grafton.
Ernest was known as "Ernie", "Junior", and "Tom". He was a graduate of LaGrange High School, Class of 1959. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960-1966 at the Vandenburg AFB. While in the Air Force, Ernie loved working on computers. Following his service, he spent years dry walling. In later years, he worked for Do It Best of Medina with 28 years of service and retired in 2007 from the Receiving Department.
Ernie was a member of the Medina Moose Club, Grafton VFW Post 3341, and a past member of the Eagles of Medina. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, coached Hot Stove baseball, and was an umpire. He also enjoyed concerts, especially Neil Diamond, and hunting.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 13 years Kimberly; children Greg Thomas of Medina, Jeff Thomas of Medina, Rick Thomas (Kimberly) of Brunswick, Krystal Swinton (Eliel) of Van Nuys, CA, Kyla Toothman (Jason) of Grafton; 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; siblings Maryann Kellermann (Ernest) of Chagrin Falls, Michael Thomas (Cheryl) of Wellington, and Elaine Stauder of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest M. and Pauline Thomasko (nee Pasadyn).
Family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life Service at the Grafton VFW, 783 Huron Street, Grafton on Monday, May 29, 5-8:30pm. Private inurnment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Busch Funeral Home, Elyria. www.buschcares.com
