Obituary

DOROTHY LOUISE TAYLOR SHRIER, age 90. Dorothy passed away at home on June 7, 2018. After attending the Cleveland Institute of Art, she designed greeting cards for American Greetings Corp. For many decades she continued to paint and design Christmas cards and other items. She was a volunteer and patron of the Cleveland Museum of Art. Her floral arrangements delighted the Garden Club of Cleveland, the Beach Cliff Garden Club and the St. James Methodist church of Hopetown. She was active with the Wet Hens and designed sets for musical productions at the Cleveland Yachting Club. At the Hopetown Sailing Club she raced dinghies and became the first ever female Commodore; still the only woman to hold that position. She organized fundraisers for Hopetown non-profits. Dorothy is survived by sons Tracy (Susan) and Barry (Annie), daughter Robin Inman (Bill) and grandchildren Nicholas, Alexander, William, Venice and Christian. Donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the Cleveland Museum of Art, 11150 East Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44106 or the Susan G. Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas TX 75265.
