Cherished Father and Grandfather

Obituary

Donald R. Steinhoff, 66, a long-time resident of Brook Park, Ohio unexpectedly passed away on February 21, 2020.

Don was born to the late Richard and Nancy Steinhoff on May 8, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up as the eldest of four children in Parma, and graduated from Parma High School in 1971. He attended Ohio State and Kent State University.

Don leaves behind his son Dustin Steinhoff (Maureen) and daughter Dawn Walker (Bruce), whom he shared with former spouse Debra McCauley Jones; grandchildren Jack and Amelia Steinhoff, Ronald Bruce III "Tripp," Blake, Claire and Hailey Walker; sisters Cindy Nakoneczny (Steve) and Sharon Pacak (Mark, deceased); brother Doug Steinhoff; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Don was a free-spirited simple man, who lived life as he wanted. A sweet, loving, sensitive man, he was very proud of his children and their accomplishments. He was happy, loved to laugh, and was often the life of the party. Some of his best times were spent camping, vacationing at the beach, cheering on the Indians, and simply relaxing with a cold beer. He enjoyed the freedom of taking a road trip with no particular route or destination. Don loved driving so much that he made it his occupation, first as a construction truck driver and later delivering freight across the country. When he was not behind the wheel, Don enjoyed being outdoors, walking the Metro Parks or riding his bike. He loved classic rock music, especially the bands The Who and The Rolling Stones, and appreciated nice cars and new shoes. Don also cherished his cat Emma and aquarium of fish. To those whose lives he touched, there will be only one Don.
