Donald P. Lahey, 81 of Bay Village, formerly of Rocky River, passed away at home, Friday, August 8, 2008, with his beloved wife nearby. Mr. Lahey was born, April 7, 1927 in Lakewood, OH and had lived in Bay Village the past 50 years. Mr. Lahey retired as the Senior Vice President of Finance from the Lubrizol Corporation, Wickliffe, after 25 years of service. During WWII, He served in the US Army stationed in Germany, among one of his duties was as a clarinet and saxophone player in the Regimental Dance Band. He was a graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, an active member of St. Barnabas Church, Bay Village where he was elected twice to the position of Senior Warden, the highest honor bestowed upon a lay person in the church. He also enjoyed playing golf. Mr. Lahey is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years: Barbara (nee Cartier); four loving daughters: Laurie Chambers (Russell) of North Canton; Linda Cullen (Michael) of Bay Village; Bonnie Altieri (Matthew) of Bay Village and Betsy Voegele (Will) of Bay Village. Other survivors include 12 grandchildren: Christopher, Joshua, Daniel, Jacob, Ben, Park, Sarah, Emily, Kate, Faith, Courtney and Paige and great grandson: Logan. He is preceded in death by his parents: Alfred P. and Julia (nee Jacobs) Lahey and a brother: Howard (survived by wife Phyllis). A memorial service will be Tuesday, August 12, 2008 in St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 468 Bradley Rd., Bay Village at 11:00am. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at church and invite all to join them for a reception following the service. Inurnment in the St. Barnabas Columbarium.
