Donald Allen Richer, age 70, longtime resident of Garfield Heights, OH, passed away on October 23, 2019. Born on June 17, 1949, in Cleveland, OH, the son of Betty Marie (Cervenka) Richer and the late Edward Joseph Richer, he was raised in Walton Hills, OH. Don received his B.S. in Political Science from Kent State University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He maintained a law office in Painesville, OH, for many years before retiring earlier this year. Don was a humble, caring and generous man who always put the needs of his family first. He was an avid reader who always had a book (or e-book) in his hands. He also enjoyed walks through the Metroparks, attending Indians games, plays and orchestra concerts with his wife Julie, fishing with his children and grandchildren and vacationing with family. Don was the beloved husband of 44 years to Julie Ann (Golembiewski) Richer, and a loving and dedicated father to Edward J. Richer, M.D. and his wife Kim of Atlanta, GA; Jonathan A. Richer and his wife Elizabeth of Monroe, CT; Adam P. Richer and his wife Jackie of North Ridgeville, OH; and Elizabeth (Beth) Richer Kilpatric and her husband Dylan of Seattle, WA. Don loved nothing more than spending time with his five grandchildren who knew him better as Pop Pop: Charles, Jonathan and Regan Richer, and Finley and Calla Kilpatric. He was also survived by his brother Ronald Richer and his wife Jilinda of Bath, OH. Visitation will be from 3:00 -7:00 PM on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at the Busch Funeral Home, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, OH. Prayer service at the Funeral Home at 9:45am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 4, 2019, at Holy Name Church, 8328 Broadway Avenue, Cleveland, OH. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 480 W. Highland Road, Northfield, OH.
