Beloved wife and mother, Darlene J. Demarchi (nee VanNest), 73 of Elyria, went to meet the Lord and her husband, Friday, January 22, 2021 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a short illness. She was born September 1, 1947 in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Darlene graduated from Flushing High School, class of 1965. She was employed at the Nordson Corporation in the Assembly Division for 16 years until 2002, a Dental Assistant at Bright Now in Parma from 2002-2008 and Sam's Club Customer Service in Elyria. She attended Church of the Open Door and enjoyed the church choir, being involved with the Missions Program through the church, and time spent as a special needs Sunday school teacher at College Heights. Her pastime hobby was crocheting blankets, scarves, and wash cloths.
Mrs. Demarchi is survived by her daughters, Michelle D. Demarchi of Tampa, Florida and Lisa M. Guinn (T.J. "Charles") of Elyria; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Demarchi (2013); brothers, Robert and Thomas VanNest; sisters, Shirley Carpenter and Gloria Ford; parents, Harry and Leota VanNest.
Friends may call from 6-8pm Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria. Funeral service will be 11:30am Friday, January 29 at the funeral home. Pastor Ben Fowlkes, from Church of the Open Door, will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
