Obituary

Dane Richard "Daisy" Harlan, age 28, of Parma, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

Dane was born on April 27, 1991 in Parma. He was a 2009 graduate of Normandy High School, where he studied construction trades at Parma Senior High School during his Junior and Senior years. Dane had a love for and a gift for construction and wood carpentry and became an amazing wood crafter. During his ten years of professional experience, he built many backyard decks, cabinets, and cutting boards, and was a co-founder of NorthShore Krafting. He was a "Wiz" when it came to small projects and his creativity was astonishing, almost magical.

All through his childhood, Dane played various sports, starting with Pee Wee football at age five, baseball, and later football at Hillside Junior High School where he played center. Dane had a great love for music too, and at age six started playing the drums, which eventually led to him leaving football behind to play drums in the high school marching band.

Dane's love for music was well known and he attended countless ICP concerts and was proud to travel to be at any "Gathering of the Juggalos."

Dane is survived by his parents Jill A. Harlan (nee Schwede) and Daniel R. Harlan; his sister Abby Harlan; his nephew Daniel Harlan; uncles Dave Schwede, Rick Schwede (Rosemary) and Ray Atkinson; and cousins Paul Schwede and Raymond Atkinson, III.

Dane was preceded in death by his grandparents Marie and Elmer Schwede, and Betty and Marvin Harlan; aunts Sherry Atkinson and Grace Schwede; and uncle David Harlan.
