Obituary

Charlotte Parks, 85, a longtime resident of Waterville and Brookfield New York, died Tuesday,
May 16, 2017 at Brookdale Westlake Village in Westlake, Ohio. She was born in Astoria, New
York July 13, 1931, daughter of the late Annie and Jacob Ach. Charlotte was a 1949 graduate
Of The Mary Louis Academy in Jamaica, New York, and earned her Bachelor's Degree from the
College of Plattsburgh New York. She went on to further her education earning a Master's in
Special Education from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. A dedicated teacher for
more than 40 years, Charlotte concluded her career as Head Teacher at Leonardsville
Elementary School in the Mount Markham Central School District. A committed educator, she
also spent time serving as a member and president of the Brookfield Central School Board of
Education.
Charlotte loved her family and friends, traveling frequently around the country to visit them. She
thoroughly enjoyed working in her garden and was a member of the Garden Club of Waterville.
She was also an extremely active participant in the Waterville Rotary, earning the distinction as
A Paul Harris Fellow for her support of the Rotary Foundation.
Charlotte is survived by her son and his wife, Cynthia and Michael Parks, and her two cherished
granddaughters, Tiffany and Halle Parks, all of Bay Village, Ohio; and her four nieces and their
families, Mary Zweifel of Rochester, NY, Ann Marie and Dean Kimball of Deansboro, NY, Terry
and Doug Seeley of Deerfield, NY, and Heidi and Guy Schwartz of Frederick, MD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Mary Ach, as
well as her dear husband, Norton Parks.
A celebration of Charlotte's life is planned for later this summer in Waterville, NY. In lieu of
