Obituary for Charles R. Bruno

March 29, 1936 - February 2, 2021
Parma, Ohio | Age 84

Devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather

Charles R. Bruno, age 84 of Parma. Beloved husband of Joyce Bruno (nee Raspik); devoted father of Lynn Horvath Freedman (Michael), Connie Barefield (Edward), Scott Bruno (Ellen); grandfather of Lindsey, Victoria, Matthew, Thomas, Douglas, and Isabella; brother of Paul.

Born in Cleveland to Charles and Helen Bruno. Charlie and his family resided in Parma. He attended Cathedral Latin High School and received his bachelor's degree from John Carroll University. He started his career at Republic Steel and soon thereafter a career at Tremco in 1966 as a Chemist where he developed patents for the company. This is when and where he and Joyce met. They were married, July 22, 1967, at St. Anthony Church where they remain parishioners to the present date. Charlie loved his family and spent a lot of time watching his grandchildren's activities. He had a love of sports, cars, and "old" movies. Charlie was a man that could relate to anyone whether a CEO of a large corporation or a kid working at a fast-food counter. He loved to chat with everyone. He lived his life centered on his faith in Jesus Christ. Attending daily mass was a part of his routine. We all know the gates of heaven were open to him upon his passing.

A celebration of Charlie's life and mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 6750 State Road, Parma, OH 44134, are preferred.

Memorial Service will be announced on our website.
