Betty Jean (Hatt) McCully, 92, resident of Wesleyan Village of Elyria, died Friday at Cleveland Metro Health Center surrounded by her family.

Born in Owosso, MI on November 12, 1925, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Arlo A. McCully, an infant daughter Sandra Jean McCully, two grandchildren, her parents, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by 6 children: Judith Muselman of Gentry, AR; Carolyn Morrow of Elyria, OH; Michael (Lisa) McCully of Indian River, MI; Kathryn (James) Perry of Keego Harbor, MI; Roger (Jocelyn) McCully of Oberlin, OH; and Gail (Charles) Polinko of Columbia Station, OH, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mary Spencer, of Owosso, MI.

She is lovingly known to many as "Grandma Betty." She taught Sunday School from the 1950's until she ended her tenure three short years ago at the age of 89. The family lived in Union Lake, MI until 1973, when they relocated to Elyria, OH. She was a member of the Elyria Community Church of the Nazarene where she was involved in children's ministries, sang in the choir, was a soprano soloist and member of a trio. She loved to do crafts and crochet and gifted many with her talents.

Her highest calling was caring for her family. In addition to this, she worked as a sales associate at Higbee's and was a representative for Ridge Hill Memorial Park for a number of years.

She was a woman of faith whose love and life touched many. She loved her family and friends and was deeply loved by them. Those who knew and loved her will greatly miss her.

Visitation will be at the Elyria Community Church of the Nazarene, 1107 Clemens Ave., Elyria, Ohio on Tuesday, November 21 from ¬¬¬1:00 to 4:00 pm. The funeral service will be at church on the same day at 6:00 pm. Rev. George Gribben will officiate.

A chapel service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Owosso, Michigan.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations should be made in her name to Paralyzed Veterans of America at pva.org, or to the Wesleyan Village, 807 West Ave., Elyria, OH 44035.
