Obituary

Barbara Lee (nee Glau) Vezdos, age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from a long courageous battle to progressive supranuclear palsy. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Barb was a diehard Indians fan. She graduated from Parma High School and after graduation she moved with her parents to Avon. She and her husband, Paul, raised their family in Avon Lake. Barb, moved to Dublin to be near two of her children 3 years ago. Family and friends were extremely important to her and staying in touch was a key component of her life through phone calls, cards, gifts, and visits. She was blessed with many dear friends and touched the lives of everyone who came in contact with her. She was selfless and thoughtful in the way she took care of others, putting them first.
Barb was a proud Slovenian and family and friends looked forward to her homemade potica at Christmas and Easter. She also made several trips to the West Side Market over the years for Slovenian sausage, which she sent to her siblings in Florida and Arizona.
She was an active member of St. Joseph Church in Avon Lake, taking great comfort in her faith and spreading the Gospel to others by the way she lived her life. She was also part of its gardening club and took part in several Bible studies. She spent many a March at the Indians spring training camps in both Florida and Arizona. If asked, she said she preferred Winterhaven. Barb loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Georgia, Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, New York City, Arizona, and Canada. She loved trips to Disney with her grandchildren. She also loved Lake Erie, spending lots of time on Johnson's Island, Put-in-Bay, and Kelley's Island. She had a love of learning, and while she did not attend college, encouraged her children to do so. She worked as a GED aide, helping people earn their high school diploma. She loved Elvis and Neil Diamond. Anyone who met Barb was a friend. She never met a stranger and could literally talk to anyone. She took a sincere interest in everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rudolph and Bertha Glau and her daughter Jill Terese Vezdos. She is survived by her three children, Tracy (Michael) Healy, Kelly (Joseph) George, and Scott (Angela) Vezdos; 5 beloved grandchildren, Adam, Owen, Cadyn, Josie, and Aaron, her sister Sandra (Alan) Bresson; her brothers Richard (Sherry) Glau and Randolph (Andrea) Glau and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
