Obituary

Barbara Louise (nee Friedl) Holley passed away on May 16, 2020, after a long illness. She is survived by her husband Edward Thomas Holley, sons Brian (Dawn) and Eric Holley (Debi), and daughter Elise Sheehan (Kevin). She is also survived by her brothers Louie (Barbara, deceased), Raymond (Sue) and Ronald (Barbara) Friedl. She adored her five grandchildren: Jeremy, Tyller and Brendan Holley, and Lauren and Patrick Sheehan.

Barbara was born in 1939 with other American classics like the Wizard of Oz. She was the oldest child of Louis and Anna (nee Snahnican) Friedl. She grew up in Avon Lake, and was a 1957 graduate of Avon Lake High School. She met her husband Edward through her brothers, and they married in April 1961. She supported Edward during his military service in the USAF, where they were stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

The family grew and by the 1970s Barbara was active with her husband in the sports and academic endeavors of their children, including little league baseball and junior football. Upon becoming a grandmother, her support extended to her five grandchildren, where she could be heard vociferously cheering on the home team Brookside Cardinals and Elyria Catholic Panthers.

Barbara worked for Society Bank early in her business career, and later founded and led the BH2 bookkeeping and payroll service. She eventually merged her business with FRC in Avon, all told she helped local businesses and individuals minimize their tax bill for over 50 years.

Barbara had a passion for travel, Jeopardy!, and the Pillsbury Doughboy. She also had a love of classic country music, tolerating her children and grandchildren's love of rock and roll. She eventually saw many live shows of different genres, including finally being able to see Meatloaf perform "Paradise by the Dashboard Light."
