Obituary for Arthur L. Brown, Jr.

June 8, 1953 - August 18, 2018
Elyria, Ohio | Age 65

Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Photographer

Arthur L. Brown, Jr., 65, of Elyria, Ohio, passed on Saturday, August 18, 2018 after a long illness.
Art was born in Elyria, Ohio and lived his entire life there, graduating from Midview High School in 1972. He was a lifetime member of Abundant Life Church (formerly Grace Apostolic), and the church was founded in his parent's home in 1953 when he was only six months old. He was an active member and over the years served as a Sunday School teacher, bus driver, choir member, bass guitar player, and served on the Board of Trustees.
He owned Art's Photography and served a wide variety of customers for 39 years. He was a member of Professional Photographers of Ohio, Wedding Photographers International, Professional Photographers of America, and Akron Society of Photographers and served as president of that association in 1992. He earned his Professional Photographers of America's Masters in 2013. Art earned several blue ribbon awards in print competition, and the prestigious Fuji Film award in 1994 for the best print in the competition.
He was proud to serve as a Bay Village Auxiliary police officer and won the Auxiliary Officer of the Year award in 2014.
He enjoyed spending time with friends and family at cookouts and dinners, loved to have friends share Thanksgiving dinner at his home, and riding his Harley motorcycle. He especially loved spending time with his new grandson, Caleb, and was so grateful that God allowed him to live long enough to see him born and to be able to spend time with him.
The family is very grateful for all those who called, wrote, sent cards, visited, and spent time with him throughout his years. He was very blessed to have a very vast group of friends, and a caring family.
He is survived by his wife Debbie of 41 years; his daughter Heather; grandson Caleb; sisters Janet and Patricia; nephews Brian, Brandon, Geran, and Ashton; nieces Whitney, Alicia, and Alivia; and two great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Monica.
Donations can be made to Abundant Life Church in Art's honor.
