Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend

Anthony Samuel Crimaldi "Tony", beloved husband, father and grandfather, a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, passed away on October 29, 2020.

Tony is survived by his wife, Christine Crimaldi (nee Peplowski), his children Anthony (Patricia), Steven (Rochelle); his granddaughters, Olivia, Andrea, Gianna, and Sophia; his sister-in-law Frances; his nephew Gary (Marie Elaine); his nieces, Denise (Richard), Charlene (Cary), and Tina (John); his great nephew Carl and his great nieces, Kelsey (Alex), Gianna, Angela, Savannah and Julie. His brother Charles predeceased him in April, 2020.

Tony was born in Cleveland on May 16, 1933 to Salvatore and Rose Crimaldi. He graduated from John Marshall High School in Cleveland and briefly attended Bowling Green State University before enlisting in the US armed services. Tony served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956 being stationed in Italy, Austria and Germany. After honorable discharge from the Army, Tony began his successful 43 year career in transportation logistics. On August 8, 1964, he married the love of his life Christine, staying married until the time of his passing, 56 years. On September 10, 1965 and March 1, 1969 respectively, Tony and Christine welcomed their two sons.

Tony was a dedicated family man to his wife, sons and his four granddaughters. Tony beamed with pride when talking with and bragging about his granddaughters. They brought him endless delight and love over the last nineteen years of his life. His pride was personified in his personal "letters/poems" that he wrote to each of his granddaughters on their respective birthdays. The amount of time and love he poured into these notes was not only obvious from the messages on the paper, but also from the joy on the faces of his granddaughters upon reading them.

Tony had a wonderful, witty sense of humor and levity that brought a smile to all that had the pleasure of interacting with him. He enjoyed spending time with his family, rooting for his favorite Cleveland sports teams, drawing, reading, listening to jazz and especially building a library of family photo albums. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

All services for Tony will be private.
