Obituary

Albert LeRoy "Al" Oliver, Jr., age 83, of Brunswick, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.

He was born in July 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to Hattie (nee Borkowski) and Albert LeRoy Oliver, Sr. Al graduated from Holy Name High School in Cleveland. He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve from November 1960 to October 1966. Al worked for many years as an over the road truck driver, having worked for the Kroger Corp. for 17 years, as well as driving for Roadway, Seaway, and many other trucking companies. Al also drove for Dunbar Armored Car services in Cleveland. Fishing, shooting, coin collecting, and enjoying life with his family kept Al busy in his spare time and retirement.

Al is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years June Marie Oliver (nee Manuel); his son Thomas Oliver (Kimberly); his brothers Richard Oliver (Joan), and Lawrence Oliver (Mary Joan); and many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother Donald Oliver (Lynn, surviving).

Al's family will receive friends at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, Ohio, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. On Thursday, October 29, 2020 there will be a prayer service at the funeral home at 10:00am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick, Ohio. Interment with U.S. Army honors will then follow at 1:30pm at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
