Alana Laurel Cery (nee Liebmann), age 71, of Strongsville, Ohio; beloved wife of James W. Cery, and former wife of the late James L. Takacs; loving mother of James H. Takacs of Cape Coral, Florida, and Evan E. Takacs (Stephanie) of Richardson, Texas; dear grandmother of Henry Takacs; also survived by her husband Jim's daughters, Sherrie Smith (Lt. Phil Smith, USN) of Waianae, Hawaii, and Pamala Cery of Silver Spring, Maryland. Alana once worked for the May Co. at Parmatown and downtown Cleveland, in charge of window displays. She also worked as a Realtor with Smythe Cramer, and was retired from the Curtiss-Wright Valve Group-Farris. She was also active in the bell choir at Divinity Lutheran Church, was a member of the Parma Heights Greenbrier Art League, was the first President of the Huntington Park Homeowners Association, and was an initial board member of the Huntington Park "Sharks" swim team. Alana passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 following complications of COPD. In place of flowers, please make a contribution to the Northeast Ohio SPCA No-Kill Pet Shelter, 9555 Brookpark Road, Parma, Ohio, 44129, or to any SPCA facility in your area. The family will receive friends at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, April 30, 2018. Funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio.
