Condolence & Memory Journal

I have just heard some of Craig's wonderful music tracks on YouTube that were posted yesterday (12/13/22) I am so sorry that you left this world in 2021 that I cannot tell you myself but want your loved ones to know how great your music is and continues to be for folks like me who are now discovering it! :-)

Cousin Craig was such a rock star and hero to me. Funny, smart, talented. As a little kid, I remember listening to the first 45 of Chris and Craig singing, "How Can I Live", and thinking, wow, you can do this? It was inspirational. I got into music heavily as a teen mostly due to that spark and my son is now carrying on that same tradition. All ripples from the same spark. To the coolest older cousin ever. RIP Craig. To quote Tam Downing, you made it to the superset.

I have so many memories of growing up with Craig and I too regret that despite efforts to get him to our reunion, we never were able to catch up. We had a great time building the treehouse at the Bercshe home on 91, hiking/camping in the woods, listening to Inna-goda-davida on repeat all night long, playing music, and continued the high jinx at their house near the academy. I recall Craig recording a song and he talked of becoming "the boy in the bubble", but I never knew that any of that came to fruition as we lost touch around that time. It sounds like he continued to live life to the fullest and I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts go out to the entire family. He was a gem!

I'm sorry I lost touch with Craig after we were at WRA. We were also nextdoor neighbors and spent time together in his swimming pool and in the treehouse in the woods behind my house. It's funny that I didn't know of his musical talents, especially since I was into playing music and went on to become a professional musician. Rest in peace old buddy.

May you rest in peace Craig. It was always fun to be your classmate and friend back in high school. I will always remember your positive, upbeat, kind and mischievous spirit. Peace.

I was fortunate to know Craig as a student at Reserve. Craig's enthusiasm for life was infectious. I recall sitting in french class one day with Craig when our dear french teracher, Mrs. Giacorinis, tried to rein Craig in by remarking: "Life is not a bowl of cherries, Mr. Bersche." Of course we both knew then that life was indeed a bowl of cherries. I am sorry that I lost touch with Craig over the years but I am happy to read that Craig was able to keep that goal. Godspeed Mr. Bersche, and enjoy those cherries. Your friend, Hal DeSaussure, WRA class '75
