Tribute & Message From The Family
Loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Son in law, Brother in law and Friend
Paul Francis Casey, 50, passed to his eternal rest surrounded by family at his North Royalton home on February 16, 2021.
Paul was born on February 26, 1970 in Denville, New Jersey and grew up in nearby Sparta. He attended Sparta High School as a three-sport athlete (football, wrestling, and track) and graduated in 1988 to wrestle for Ohio University, securing two Mid-American Conference Championship wins in 1992 and 1993. He graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences in a Specialized Study of Health Promotion.
From OU, he followed the love of his life, Marina, to Northeast Ohio, married in 1997, and settled in North Royalton, Ohio. In the coming years, they welcomed Matthew and Claire into the world.
He went on to coach wrestling all his life as an admired teacher, mentor, and role-model at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. Needless to say, wrestling was his passion, second only to his Catholic faith and his beloved family and friends.
Among his numerous occupations, he was skilled in carpentry and always had an eye for potential with respect to properties, or anything for that matter, in need of his craftmanship.
He was eminently knowledgeable in scripture and the Catholic faith. His interests included hiking, kayaking, skiing, fishing, politics, numismatics, mechanics, the natural sciences, and spending time with loved ones.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Marina Casey, son, Matthew Casey, daughter, Claire Casey, parents, Howard and Susan Casey, brother and his spouse, Mark and Beth Casey, parents-in-law Peter and Kostia Parianos, siblings-in-law Joanne (Ed) Samenuk, Chris (Jeannie) Parianos, and Maria (Tim) O'Connell, and several nieces and nephews.

Condolence & Memory Journal
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My deepest condolences to the Casey Family. While Paul and I have lost touch over the years, I still feel a brethren connection to him as we are but a few that have shared the Houska experience. Leading by example, Paul taught me so much about hard work and dedication during my impressionable years. Lessons that carry over to this day and that I've tried to pass on to my family. Paul has had an everlasting impression on my life, and it appears to so many others as well.

Deepest sympathy to the Casey Family. I felt like I knew Paul, for Susan and I have spent many backpacking trips and car camping trips over the years, lots of time to hear of Paul's accomplishments. She is so proud of the life that he created with his love and commitment to his family, friends and sports teams. May he be at peace in the arms of the Lord.

I am blessed to have met Coach Casey in High School and will always remember the good memories from helping out with Highland Wrestling and from having him as a substitute teacher randomly. We knew it was going to be a great day when we had Coach Casey as a sub (he once allowed us to go to Steak and Shake to get milkshakes during class LOL). I know all of the wrestlers loved him as a coach and although I never wrestled, he still always supported and followed how I did in track and cross country in both high school and college and I will always appreciate that. I'm glad that we kept in touch after High School and will always cherish the time. The world has lost a truly wonderful guy.

I will always remember Paul as a loving person. He was such a joy to his family and we were always happy when we got a chance to see him. I remember him most as a young child when he would come to Quincy to visit with his Mom and Dad and brother, Mark. Sending love and hugs to all who are grieving his loss.

To all Paul's family , Maria, Matt, Claire and all the family and friends. We would like to express our very sincere sympathy to all Paul's family. He was a coach at Highland Wrestling team when our grandson Adam Kluk wrestled and Paul coached him at State. It is not how we want life to go, but God has different ideas and he is as peace with the Lord. I don't why he died so young but we don't have any answers to why anyone died. God comfort you as all the family grieves and we will be praying for you comfort. Marie and children write him a letter each day of how you feel and you will find comfort from you head, heart , down your arm to you papers. It really helps and lots of tears, but that is part of our grieving process. Love to you all he was a like a son to us. God Bless you all Faye and Dale Curtis

I was a High school classmate and friend of Paul's. We lost touch over the years following college but I have always remembered our shenanigans with laughter, he was a kind soul who was always fun to be around. I will hold those memories close knowing how lucky I was to have known him.
