I had a wonderful time Meeting Bob and his Son Mickey in September 2018 and playing and coaching on his team at Cooperstown NY. It was even more special bc Bob batted right behind his son Mickey and had the Highest on base percentage of our team. We had a great time on our team at Cooperstown and we will all miss Bob. All the best to the Leech family and Our prayers are with all at this time.

I've played with and against Bob for Many years in Our Legends of Baseball tournament in Cooperstown, NY. Bob was in fact certainly a
"character". But his passion to play and love for the sport was clear and infectious in many ways. We will miss you Bobby Leech and so glad you got back to your beloved Legends tournament in Cooperstown. Covid also took our tournaments away from us this year, but we will be back stronger than every in 2021. And I have no doubt whatsoever you will be with us and watching and making sure the Umps dont miss any calls.

with all our love to the entire Leech family

I met Bob in 1984 while playing baseball in Cleveland. After the season was over he called me and asked me to join his team for the '85 season.I ended up playing for and against Bob for the next 5-6 years. I also enjoyed playing with his son Mickey for awhile. We lost contact with each other for the next 25+ years as life rolled on. But in 2019 I noticed an animated, chatty umpire calling my son's high school game in Strongsville. I went behind the backstop to "give him the business". He recognized me immediately and we spoke between every inning and well after the game was over. We had some good laughs about our time in the 80's. He was a good man and a true character that will be missed. Rest in Peace Bob.

We are just heartbroken about Bobs passing. He always had a smile on his face and a complement to give no matter what the situation. He certainly loved his Lord and was such a fine Christian example that I had the opportunity to grow up with. We will certainly miss him at church.

So very sorry for the loss of your husband/ father. He will truly be missed at EBT. When we first went to EBT, we heard people talking about Baseball Bob. We eventually met Baseball Bob and we understood the reason for his name! He played baseball, umpired and was still playing tournament baseball in Florida! He entertained and made us laugh. He was a great guy and will truly be missed by all who knew him! God bless his family and friends.

Marilyn and Family:

Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with you. While Sean worked with you and Councilman Bob during his time in Seven Hills, I will remember Baseball Bob. As an umpire, Baseball Bob umpired our son Jack's games on a few occasions and was always instructing or talking to Jack at first base. May God bless and keep you during this difficult time.

I'm glad I got to know Bob when he joined the Lincoln Ole Sports Committee that I was on. He was so friendly and caring to everyone he came into contact with. Bob treasured all things Lincoln HS. He was larger than life at times and would offer his help and leadership without being asked. Bob will truly be missed by so many that it's unfathomable. May he rest in peace and may The Lord provide comfort and solace to his family in this difficult time and to all those who will miss him so much.

RIP Councilman Bob

I'm so very sorry to hear about Bob's passing. He was a 'larger-than-life' character, who left an indelible impression wherever he went. My father and I were reminiscing, that when Bob was just a young lad and was giving shoeshines on W. 25th St., that he was caught up in a snowstorm (he had travelled by bike), and my Mom and Dad came to the rescue and drove him back down to W. 7th St., where apparently the family home in Tremont (the 'Southside') was. May I express our deepest condolence, from both my father and I. God's peace be with you all who mourn his passing.

My deepest condolences to Marilyn and family. I have lots of great sandlot baseball memories with Bob. Once we were down by 10 runs late in a game and Bob tried to steal third, but was out by 10 feet. He came trotting over to the bench with a big smile on his face and said, "You gotta stay aggressive!" We all had a good laugh - I think it was Bob's way to express his competitiveness and love for the game. He was a kind, encouraging person and I'll remember him very fondly.

We feel very fortunate to count him as a true and sincere friend. Now, he has rounded third and headed home! God speed Bob.

Baseball Bob was one of a kind . We have known him for the last 11 years as we vacation at the same condo association. He was so much fun at the pool on the beach, Monday night crockpot parties ,and every night 5 till sunsetcocktailUkulele sing-alongs! We always ended our sing-alongs with the blowing of the conch shells at sunset. Also Friday night social hours were so enjoyable.! . We even put on The Big Show a few times and baseball Bob was master of ceremonies extraordinaire ! These fun times will never be the same again because Bob will be missing. RIP baseball Bob

I really got to know Bob well over the past twenty-five years. I wasn't able to attend any of our class reunions until the thirtieth. I was an Army "lifer" and other commitments always seemed to arise just about the time our reunions came up. I glad for the ones I was able to attend as I have said I really got to know Bob well and can truly say that I am grateful that I did. I'll miss him.

My most sincere condolences to Bob's family. Bob was a great friend, a fun adversary on the field and a team mate who could always be counted on to play his best. My favorite conversations with him happened on the pitching mound, usually after a hanging curve ball. I will miss him dearly.
He was also the inspiration for Sue and my moving to Florida. Sadly our plan to play forever never came about but we had great times for many years
God bless you Bob, and your family
