Tribute & Message From The Family

Beloved Daughter, Dear Mother, Cherished Grandmother, Loving Grandmother and Sister

Elaine Mae (Kolakowski) McCune passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020. Elaine was a graduate of Garfield Heights High School (1953).

Elaine was an active member in her children's schools and her community. She served on the PTA, Band Boosters, Athletic Boosters, the You Can Do It tutoring program, and committees too numerous to count. She also coached and managed her daughters' softball teams and was the North Royalton Recreation Department's softball league commissioner for many years. Elaine was a member of the North Royalton Lioness Club and a charter member of the Royalton Hills Lions Club, participating on committees and attending meetings through 2019. If you wanted anything done, and done well, you called Elaine! Late in life, Elaine began working in the daycare community and touched the lives of many children, several of whose parents continued to share updates with their beloved Miss Elaine through the years.

Elaine is survived by her beloved children, Dr. T. Scott (Karen) McCune, Lorraine (Dale) Jones, Lesley (Ray) McCune, and Tammi (Daniel) McCune; sisters, Dianna (Leonard) Manka and Donna Kopchynski; cherished grandchildren, Megan, Jolene, Cory, Gwynevere, Brent, Zoe, Elena, and Lily; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Natalie, Lola, Jace, Keegan, Trenton, Bryce, Brayden, and Wesley. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cassie Jones; parents, Mary and Daniel Kopchynski; brother, Roger Kolakowski; sister, Maryann Mundy; and former husband, Dr. Thomas G. McCune.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Albert the Great Church, 6667 Wallings Road, North Royalton, Ohio, 44133. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Royalton Hills Lions, P.O. Box 33476, North Royalton, Ohio, 44133. 440-237-4569 www.buschcares.com
