Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Friend

Anna Allen Ruoff (nee Meyn), 92 of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019. She was born October 3, 1926 in Cincinnati, OH to parents Wilhelm and Eliza (nee Parry) Meyn.

Anna attended Ohio University where she received her Bachelors in Education in 1948. She worked for the Orange School and Avon Lake School systems as a teacher and a volleyball coach. She led the Avon Lake volleyball team to a conference and district championship in 1980. In recognition of this achievement, she was inducted into the Avon Lake Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. Anna was a resident of Avon, OH for over 40 years. She was a charter member of the Avon Lake Presbyterian Church, serving on the church Session and giving her time to numerous ministries. She never lost her love of walking and exploring the world. She was grateful for each day, and extended grace and respect to everyone.

She is survived by her beloved husband Edward "Jay" Ruoff; loving children Jeffrey Allen (Nancy), Mary Beth Allen and Todd Allen; cherished grandchildren Douglas Allen (Kyoko) and Meredith Allen.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Robert P. Allen, parents and siblings Elizabeth Meyn, Henry Meyn and William Meyn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be forwarded to Avon Lake Presbyterian Church 32340 Electric Blvd., Avon Lake, OH 44012.

Friends may call on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm for a visitation at Busch Funeral Home 163 Avon Belden Rd., Avon Lake, OH. Services will be held at Avon Lake Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation by Busch. www.buschcares.com 440-933-3202

I am sorry for your loss. I remember her from volleyball at Avon Lake High School. She was a fair and beautiful lady. The Lord called to coach his new team.
