Condolence & Memory Journal

Dear Bev and family, our sympathy to all of you on Jack's passing. We knew you many years ago when your kids and our kids attended St. Mark Lutheran School. Later we moved to Brooklyn--Jack taught Industrial Arts to our son. God bless your family. May Jack rest in peace.

I am so very sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I was informed of it just recently, and I wish I could have attended his funeral. Jack Chambers was one of the most influential people in my life. He was my Industrial Arts Instructor at Brooklyn High School, and we became very good friends over the years. I considered him and his family as my own family. Jack was a loving husband and father, as well as one of the most talented people I've ever known. He was an awesome teacher, and absolutely fearless. I will always remember our experiences working together. He taught me so much about being a responsible adult, not just trying to become a craftsman. My heart goes out to his loving wife and family. May the Lord comfort them in their time of loss. I will miss Jack Chambers dearly. He was much like the best older brother and mentor to me than I could ever ask for. He was my good friend. I regret that as the years passed, my path in life did not allow for me to keep in as close contact with Jack and Beverly as I did when I was younger. I am looking forward to seeing him and his smile again someday if the good Lord deems it. God bless Beverly, her sons Jackie and Wayne, and their loving families. They are all such special people, and I am proud to say they are my friends. I have passed on much of the wisdom I absorbed from Jack, to my own children. Like Howell Jack Chambers, both of my sons served in the United States Marine Corps. Semper Fidelis, Jack.

It was my pleasure and honor to have been a teaching colleague of Jack Chambers at Brooklyn High. His loyalty to his students and friends was strong. He taught kids the value of integrity and pride in a job well done. He never ceased demonstrating Marine Corps values and honor. He will be remembered and greatly missed. May God bless and comfort his fine family.

Mrs. Chambers and Family,
My deepest sympathies go out to you for the loss of Mr. Chambers. As I have told many friends, we were way too young and foolish as first year students to grasp and appreciate his knowledge and guidance. As second year students or faster learners, it became clear and obvious that Mr Chambers was guiding us through our future careers and life lessons. It was a pleasure for me to see Mr.Chambers as a customer where we serviced his vehicles. Mr. Chambers was proud to tell everyone that I was a student of his. I am proud to have been a student and friend as well. I appreciate everything Mr. Chambers has helped me with and will miss him dearly. Rest in Peace Mr Chambers.

Jack is my cousin. He always lived life to the fullest. He was very proud of his sons. He was a loving husband to Beverly. There was never a dull moment when he was around.. He loved life. I will miss his visits to us back here in his native West Virginia. Heaven gained a good man and is a little livelier with Jack there. He's probably up there now arguing with his brother Hugh or my Uncle Kenny. My thoughts and prayers are with you Beverly, Jack, and Wayne.

Mr. Chambers is one of those memorable teachers that made a lasting impression on all the young people he encountered. He had an impact on my life that I will never forget. He was one of the first teachers I encountered in Brooklyn High School. What I didn't know was that Mr. Chambers was a friend of my Uncle Ron, but he made sure to tell all of the kids in my class about what a large, tough, giant of a man my uncle was. It made me feel special and important. We used to see each other at family parties here and there. He always showed an interest in what you were up to and I will never forget the sound of his voice as he called "Burggeman". Since I went on to become a teacher myself, I think of Mr. Chambers often. I hope some day to be half as impactful on the young people I encounter as he was. Rest in peace Mr. Chambers until we meet again.

He was one of the best teachers I had. The things he taught me to do not only with my hands but also with my head I will always be greatful for. While I have not seen him in many years he is thought of almost every time I use something he taught me. When my kids ask me where did you learn to fix that the answer is almost always Mr Chambers. My condolences to the family, may he Rest In Peace.

I was a student of Mr Chambers back in the 70's. He was a charismatic and entertaining teacher. I very much enjoyed his class and I most certainly have applied what I learned from him in my technical career. Jack made a difference.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
