I am so sorry to hear about Susan's passing just today when a mutual frind told me. I knew Susan through Girl Scouts long ago -- maybe we took a training together -- and always enjoyed her company. She mentioned that one of the large pictures in the Mill at Camp Julia Crowell included an image of her as a girl. When the pictures had to be removed, I realized that they weren't in good shape, but I always prized

I first met Susan at ALCON '98 in Chicago, though we traded emails before and knew each other through alt.music.weird-al. I last saw Susan at the Columbus show in 2010. We'd always send each other math-related emails because we were both math majors at Rutgers (though different years). My deepest sympathies to her family.

Two-thirds of our lives ago, Susan and I would spent late Sunday mornings in the red-walled Kirkpatrick Chapel at Rutgers University. We were ushers, probably because we both couldn't sing well enough to join the choir. But we came every week, listened with rapt attention and counted Chapel as one of our defining experiences as undergraduates.
One Sunday, when Chaplin Brad Abernathy was away, we planned the service. We decided on a Communion Service, and Dr. Proctor was the speaker. As

I use to babysit Anastasia and Meghan, I just remember that although things weren't perfect she was a wonderful mother and she always looked so happy when she would come home and see her daughters. She always had a friendly smile for me, and never said an unkind word to me. She will be missed

Susan's love of life and of the interests we shared came through in every word she wrote. I shall miss her terribly. My thoughts are with all her family.

Though I had only exchanges with Suzan on line, I soon considered her as a friend, the kindest and most generous person I ever found in our shared internet communities, always ready and pleased to help anyone who asked her advices or support.
Her absence will never be filled by anyone or anything else but I believe she is still very positively present among us, not only in our memeories but as a living soul, aware and active.

My deepest condolances to Susan's daughters.
Words cannot express how much we all have lost, Susan. I remember what you wrote recently and indeed you have fought the good fight. The grief we feel at your loss is proof of that. You were so much more than what we who knew you in the MFU fandom know, but I'll never stop being grateful for all the support and friendship you showed to me as you beta'd my work. You made me remember that yes, fandom IS all about friendship.
Thank you, Susan and rest in peace.

I hereby message to show my deep feeling for what happened. Unfortunately, not everything happens as we imagine, but God knows best. Jesus said to him: I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in me shall never die though. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. (John 11:25-26)
Rest in peace my friend!
